Better Outcomes for Oklahoma Kids (B.O.O.K.) was launched in Fall 2024 by the Advance Oklahoma’s Kids (AOK) coalition to change the narrative around public education. Inspired by the landmark bipartisan House Bill 1017, B.O.O.K. calls on Oklahomans to set aside partisanship and create a bold, realistic agenda for the next decade. Built from over 250 citizen surveys, six statewide listening sessions, and interviews with education leaders, the initiative presents 16 recommendations across four themes: strengthening the teaching profession, ensuring adequate resources, improving student performance, and creating safe, supportive schools. With over 700,000 students depending on public education, B.O.O.K. 2030 lays out a plan to strengthen our schools and secure better outcomes for every Oklahoma child.
